CONFORMATION SHOW - JUDGE VERENA AHRENDTS

FCI LICENSED CONFORMATION JUDGE FOR MINI, STANDARD, GIANT SCHNAUZER

"You can live without a dog, but it's not worth it!"
Born in Braunschweig, 1978, my family soon moved to Helmstedt, where I grew up with all the animals that children's hearts need to be happy. Due to my parents activities breeding Miniature and Giant Schnauzers under the kennel name "vom Sirius", I started to develop interest in dog sport very early on and successfully took part in examinations, tournaments and championships.

My greatest personal success was in youth handling, where I was able to collect trophies, bows and titles across Europe with my "Momo vom Sirius". In this time my father, Rüdiger Ahrendts, became president of the German Pinscher-Schnauzer-Klub
1895 e.V. (PSK) and the International Schnauzer Pinscher Union (ISPU). My mother, Elke Ahrendts, was one of the, back then, very rare female judges. After my graduation from High School, I focused on my studies of Social and Political Science at the University of Oldenburg. At the same time, the Verband für das Deutsche Hundewesen (VDH), the German Kennel Association, allowed me to apprentice as a judge. I passed the VDH’s final exam successfully in 2009 and since then have been an active judge on an international level.

I am approved to judge Giant Schnauzer, Standard Schnauzer, Miniature Schnauzer, German Pinscher, Miniature Pinscher and Affenpinscher.

I bear a lot of responsibility as a breeding officer, whose tasks include the control and acceptance of breeding sites. More important is the time as a companion in all issues of breeding, selection of stud dogs, pregnancy, the birth and rearing of puppies, until they can be released into the arms of their new families.

In 2016, a long-cherished wish came true. As head of a clinic, I was able to open the dog fun center Schnuffelwuffel. Our goal was not to start a new dog school, but to create a meeting and socialization site - not only for dogs, but also for humans.
In order to meet the required qualifications that such a project entails, I passed my examination and now hold the "Certificate of Competence for Training Centers and trainers” within the VDH."

At the time of our most recent local elections I was voted into a seat in the Council of the City of Helmstedt. At the same time I was able to make my hobby, my passion: my dogs, a more central part in my life. As an animal health practitioner, an expert in all dog related areas (temperament, nutrition, education, behavior, breeding) I live with and for dogs.

I advise, support, clarify and inform my fellow dog fanciers in any type of setting, be it personal conversation, a lecture, at a seminar or in practical workshops. As a member of the Society for the Advancement of Cynological Research e.V., it goes without saying that it is necessary to continue to develop the breeds, to be open to new things and to share them to the best of our knowledge and belief.
At the moment I'm in progress of getting certified to judge various breeds of FCI group 5.

It is a great honour for me to accept your judging invitation.

Best Regards,
Verena Ahrendts

TRIAL HELPER - DERRIKE LACROSS

My name is Derrike Lacross. New England is my home region and I have been doing helper work for almost a decade now. I have done 4 Regionals and 5 National Championships for USCA and AWMA. I love all working breeds and am truly impressed by their abilities and genetic makeup. I own 2 Boxers myself that I train in the sport. One of my other passions away from trial work is training. Seeing dogs with different drive states achieve the same goal is fascinating and will always bring me joy. This will be my first Schnauzerfest and I could not be more excited Good luck to all competitors and I wish everyone the best!

This years host for Schnauzerfest 2024 is the Schutzengel Working Dog Club!

Since 1991, Schnauzerfest has been our Annual IGP Championship Trial and Conformation Show. The Working Riesenschnauzer Federation is the "Working Dog Breed Club" that represents the Giant Schnauzer in the United States.

While the Schnauzer has priority, our IGP trial is open to ALL BREEDS recognized by AWDF member clubs and ALL scorebooks recognized by FCI - Fédération Cynologique Internationale..

It is the only Working Dog Club for the Giant Schnauzer recognized by the American Working Dog Federation, which hosts and participate in National and International Utility Dog Events recognized by FCI.

The WRSF is partnered with ISPU - International Schnauzer Pinscher Union. WRSF hosts Working Dog events following FCI Utility Dog Guidelines for all trials and the FCI Breed Standards for the Miniature, Standard and Giant Schnauzer Breeds during Conformation Events.
